So I’ve tapered it down to just over 4000 km in 9 days – I know, if you do the math (but really, who wants to do that) you’ll discover that is basically 500km a day with a short little day tacked on at the end.  And if you are a rider, you may say, ‘Hey, you could do that before lunch, why you quittin’ after only 500?’

Because I said so!  I also have found through experience that 500km can take part of a day or it can take a whole freakin’ day.  Just depends how straight or how twisty those 500km are!  So being older and wiser than last year, I am doing my best to cap the days at 500.

Now I just need to find sponsorship.  This is a new idea.  There must be something I can do with this roadtrip that’s worth something to someone to the point that they will give me money.  And no, I will not do the trip naked!  Eh, just a random thought.  It’ll probably come down to good ole scrimping and scraping to come up with trip funds, lol.

I don’t remember time flying this fast when I was kid.  Things used to move more slowly.  I swear they did.  Some time in all this evolution and change, time sped up.  At least it feels like it.

Now we’re on the cusp of spring, dreaming about all the things we want to do this year and hoping we have the means to do them!  I’m starting to see all the things I plan on purging when Spring Cleaning Fever hits.  There are road trips to plan and dream about and family trips to feel guilty about when we run out of time and money and can’t do them.

And the getting in shape thing…I’ve been working on it for a month now.  Starting to see slow results which is promising but for someone like me, I constantly war with the impatient voice on my shoulder.  I’m a fan of instant gratification – not that I’m afraid of hard work, it’s just that hard work usually means a long time.  And that’s where the whiny 5 year old voice says, ‘But I want it now!’

I am learning to deal with that youngster though and the bonus is that I get to share the time outs!

Oh, right…me.  Yup, I’m a slacker, haven’t posted a thing in a while.  Busy, busy, busy.  Started a whole new healthy eating/going to the gym routine to try and lose myself!  ha ha ha.  Anyway, I find it’s tying up a lot of my ‘creative’ time. 

But I’m still here and I’m workin’ a new digital scrapbooking course so I’ll be posting up some of the projects from those classes as well as some of my other layouts..

Anyway, I won’t be such a stranger…off to bed…

You can literally turn someones day around by saying thank you, thinking of you, you can do, I’m hear, etc. People don’t necessarily need you to solve the problems for them but knowing you understand and sympathize is often enough. Maybe just a small acknowledgment of what they do. Trust me, it works. Try it!

You’ll be making people smile in no time!

2.    ‘Have a nice day’    does not always mean someone is truly concerned with how your day actually goes.  Now, I’m not throwing every egg in the same basket here but you have to admit that I’m right.  (Now say ‘I’m sorry’! just kidding).  For example, I went through a fast food drive-thru this morning.  The first window made a small error in my order so that when I got to the window I pick up my food at, there was a small coffee waiting for me instead of a large one.  Not a big deal.  However, instead of a ‘I’m sorry’, it was ‘well it says a small here’.  My order was corrected, with me being pleasant and polite the entire time because after all, it really was no big deal, she hands me the bag and proceeds to start cleaning things around her area and utters ‘Have a nice day’.  Now after arguing about my order, having to redo a coffee and speaking in that previously-recorded tone, I’m pretty sure that girl cares nothing about how my day is going to go.

Thankfully one take-out girl does not dictate the path of my day so I think I’ll survive.  I also encounter mulitple people in a day who actually enjoy doing their job and really mean what they say when they say it.

Anyway, things are young, I mean it is only January 3rd after all, and I intend on mixing my reality with a healthy dose of change where possible and/or necessary.

Frankly, I’m a little excited!

And then, in a momentary lapse of lucidity, I’ve decided to take on Project 365. You guessed it, 1 picture a day, EVERY DAY! Hah! we’ll see how long that one lasts.

Anyway, apparently my family needs food to survive so I am off.
